OSR News Roundup for January 24, 2022

There was a lot of stuff either released or announced this week, and I'm sure I didn't include everything. My apologies if I missed your release; please send me an email or message and I can include it in next week's.

I missed this last week and wanted to make sure it gets included this week. Eldritch Fields has released Ulfire Tablets #1 on itch, a free "sword, planet, and sorcery".

One of my favorite authors, taichara, has uploaded a new supplement up on Itch. Entitled A Collection of Curious Characters, it is a pay-what-you-want book featuring 8 ready-to-go, system-neutral NPCs.

The folks over at Let's Start Over, Shall We, an actual-play podcast set in the Marvel Universe, are prepping to release their own retro-clone of the rightly beloved FASERIP ruleset. You can check out the preview page here.

Dungeoneering is a new 'zine (or system, it's hard to tell) that was just released on Drivethru, with a focus on dungeon delving without all the resource tracking. It caught my eye because it is currently on sale for 5.00, ten dollars off the normal price.

The Halls of Light is the first published adventure from Ivan Richmond, featuring a gnomish mine over-run with goblins. It is available on Drivethru.

Old School and Cool, Vol 3, a zine for Old School Essentials, has just put up their pre-launch page on Kickstarter.

Gunslinger, a game of strange science in the wild west, is live on Kickstarter.

The prolific Glynn Seal has just launched a Kickstarter. The Rancid Canyons of the Floating Death Sheep is a low-level adventure for 5e, S&W, and DCC.

Grok has their Kickstart pre-page up. It's an OSRish rpg set in a gonzo-ish world of limitless possibility. The sample art shown is amazing.

Fresh from Beyond the Burning Teeth, Amanda P is planning Pilgrimage of the Sun Guard for ZiMo, a solo adventure (you can catch an interview with Amanda on the Wobblies and Wizards podcast, mentioned below).

Modern Adventuring and Plunder is a PWYW, OSR-adjacent ruleset now available on itch. It's compatible with most OSR-systems but is classless and level-less, using a talent tree system.

It's not new, but it's new to me. I've been enjoying the Wobblies and Wizards podcast. They're short, daily podcasts on all things OSR gaming, perfect when you need something a half-hour long to listen to.

Third Kingdom Games has a number of new print releases this week:
