OSR News Roundup for September 19th, 2022

Let's dive right into it, shall we?

*As a proud new puppy dad, I was thrilled to see a new mini-game up on itch. Spacewalkies, a submission to the Hyperspeed Adventure Jam 2022, is a game about escorting the most valuable resident of a space station to the safety of an escape pod. (Okay, fine. Everyone, meet Lily)

*WizardThiefFighter (Luka Rejec of Ultraviolet Grasslands) has released Dead City Memories Volume 1 as a PWYW 'zine.

*Yochai Gal and Brad Kerr, two well-known names in indie gaming, have started up Between Two Cairns, an rpg review podcast.

*The BX Advanced Bestiary Kickstarter is going well. Almost halfway through, we're more than halfway towards the final stretch goal of providing an illustration for each monster that will be appearing in the book. Art has already started to come in, such as this, the awakened cave locust by Marco Ortiz Walters (both a monster and a playable character class.

*Skerples is funding a bestiary of their own. The Monster Overhaul is an OSR-neutral monster book designed to be of use at the table.

*Appendix N has launched a Kickstarter featuring a trio of books. Gateway to Adventure is written for OSE, but applicable to all OSR games, and features new rules, combat options, classes, and spells.

*The Tomb, by FEI Games, is written for OSE and is just that. Designed as a drop-in tomb to plunder, it is a small, four-room dungeon for mid-level characters.

*Adrian Kennelly has released 100 Encounters for Borderlands Regions, which pretty much does what it says on the tin, as well.

*There and Hack Again uses the Black Hack ruleset to emulate a style of game in the fashion of Lloyd Alexander and Ursula Le Guin.

*Solo gaming has seen an explosion in popularity in recent years, and Being the Master in Solo RPG examines some option for solo rpg play.

*I'd mentioned a recent Kickstarter that Philip Reed was running -- A Selection of Slimes -- and the initial version of the pdf is already up on Drivethru.

*The Tabletop Engineer has released a new Delver bundle on Drivethru, with promises of print versions being available soon.

*I'm not quite sure what STACKGANG is, but it's by folks I know produce good stuff (including Glynn Seal, and it's Troika compatible, so it's likely to be of interest to readers.

*I'm not sure how I've been missing their work, but Yum_DM has just released another issue of their d12 Location Zines, featuring a druid's corrupted grove.

*Everyone likes spell cards, and David Nielson has released a set for old-school (OSE) spells.

*Speaking of solo gaming, Tables for One features a wealth of tables that can be used to generate encounters and events with solo gaming. It's written to be system neutral so it can be used with a wealth of games.

*I've added some new titles to the webstore.

**Gunplaya is a products of August's ZineQuest, and is a setting where the players control goldfish piloted mechs to save their island for threats.

**Capes and Cloaks and Cowls and a Park is by Frank "Motokrosh" Reding and was funded during February's ZineMonth22. It features a theme park created by a wizard and is a gorgeous, hardbound 'zine with velvet ribbon bookmark.
