OSR News Roundup for November 2nd, 2026
Welcome to the first News Roundup for November. There's a lot of stuff to go over today, but I wanted to get started by mentioning that the LATAM Jam 2026 has just been announced, and it is scheduled to start in December. An acronym for Latin America, the jam is open to everyone, as long as the entries relate to a game created by a latine author. This has been a perennial favorite of the Roundup, and has historically been a really popular jam. You can check out the requirements on their itch page, and they also have a Discord server you can join.
Another interesting event occuring now is the Pacific Northwest RPG Fest, on Kickstarter, featuring a loose collective of OSR designers from the Pacific Northwest funding their adventures and supplements.
I'm also not going to link to all of the submissions, but I wanted to remind everyone about the recently ended Orctober Game Jam. They had 46 entries this year, and as of the time of this writing there's still about a week to vote for your favorites.
2 Gorblins in a Studio has released On the Dimming and the Customs Thereof, a collection of six visitors for Cairn with art by Roundup favorite Evlyn Moreau.
Epigramps has released What Trouble Brews Below, an adventure for Cairn inspired by Blood on the Clocktower, in which the PCs take on the roles of ordinary townsfolk.
I'm always happy to promote the work of first-time publishers, and Maebae is one such person, having just released Medium Rare Minotaur, a short, four page dungeon labyrinth the PCs delve into to find and recover minotaur meat.
I'm a big fan of Lazy Litch, and was excited to see that they're running a Kickstarter right now to fund the creation of a box set of their collective works into a single, cohesive game world. It includes a new setting guide, that ties together all of their previously printed works.
I'm a sucker for DIY art, and slothyyyyyy has just released the partially completed Escape from Special Operations Complex #903, based on and inspired by the late 70s West End Games The Realm of Yolmi.
Prolific publisher Sivad's Sanctum has released Hammers, a short rpg based on and inspired by the classic Hammer Horror movies.
Redacted Sector is a new zine focused on the original Traveller system, which I don't know what I've seen any material for recently. They're actively looking for contributors.
I'm a bit late for Halloween releases, but Demi ElGato just released The Candy-Caper of Claudius' Cove, a Halloween investigative romp/dungeon crawl on an island where Halloween is taken very seriously.
The Beast of Clarvel is a Gothic horror adventure sandbox all based around a mysterious abandoned estate.
Our friends over at Inkwell Ideas have launched their second volume in their bestiary series inspired by classic rock songs and lyrics: Rock & Roar: Once Bitten is available in both OSE and Shadowdark flavors.
Not sure how I missed this, but Brian Shutters is funding Eye Tyrants (with only a few days remaining), a 3pp release for Forbidden Psalms featuring a skirmish game between various eye tyrant (beholder) factions.
Blackleaf, currently funding on Kickstarter, is something that I've seen a lot of people bemoaning the lack of: a clone of AD&D 2e. It's an interesting project, and I'm looking forward to the end result.
Written for both Vox Dei and Mork Borg, Mala Tempora is sandbox-style campaign that promises to be deadly to the PCs.
Red Ruin Publishing has released Casket of Fays #20. Their Dragon Warriors fanzine, it's been going strong for a number of years now, and this is the final release for 2026. They've also released print versions of Issues 1-3, which you can find through their publisher page.
The Knight who Chased the Sun is an adventure written for the (new to me) Tiny Torches, a Shadowdark compatible game designed to introduce youngsters into the hobby. It looks like a charming, well-designed adventure.
M Allen Hall has released Out of the Iron Labyrinth, a single-player adventure for OSE in which the PC must attempt to escape "hell" and make it back to the material plane. It's one of the first products I've seen that was funded during the spring's OSE Month on Backerkit that has seen publication (I think there have been a few others, but they escape me right now).
